Reflect With Me

FRIENDSHIPS

Looking back…

Saturday, I had the honor of hosting my very good friends’ engagement dinner at GungHo in Dallas. I’m no event planner but thank God for Pinterest, Party Cakes By Shevon and Amazon! Seriously, I really couldn’t have pulled any of it together without the AMAZING staff at GungHo. Madison Johnson is the Event Manager and she maintained contact with me throughout the planning process and most importantly, the day of the event. We had several members of the staff greet us and check in on us throughout our dinner.

Honestly, there were so many checking in on us, that I couldn’t keep up with all the names. One of the many waitresses that assisted us was named Lauren and she was phenomenal! I have NEVER experienced that level of customer service. We all felt like celebrities by the end of the night. Please book them for your next girls night, brunch, solo meal, birthday, or corporate event!

After the event, I really took out time to reflect on my friendships. According to Aristotle, there are three ways to categorize friendship.

Friendships types…

Friendships of utility are typically based on the benefit that each or one side brings to the table…
When I first read this, I immediately thought about those friends that are “takers”, but this could also be viewed as a professional relationship with your realtor or hair stylist that can bloom into a different type of friendship later. It’s all about perception…

Friendships of pleasure are often initiated from common interest such as travel, fashion, happy hour, brunch etc. I have made tons of friends this way and I’m thankful for them as well…

Friendships of the good, are THE most important ones…
It can’t be easily broken like the other two. It is a relationship that is built on respect, appreciation, love, balance, and a strong desire to support each other. I’m so thankful to have “friendships of the good”! True some of them may have started from utility or of pleasure, but I’m thankful for how they have blossomed.

Special thank you to the vendors…

I’d love to hear from you, comment below or send me an email by clicking “Chat With Me” under “About Me”.
Until next time, I’m manifesting luv, enjoy.
