Reflect With Me

Ask yourself…

Have you ever had someone call your idea dumb? Do you have someone that is consistently bringing you down when all you want to do is better for yourself? Are they still in your life? If you answered yes, then we need to work on removing negativity ASAP!

Back then they didn’t want me, now I’m hot …

This time last year someone told me that my vision for my blog was dumb and I wouldn’t make any money off of it. For a moment I felt deflated, but then a light bulb went off and I decided to prove them wrong. I honestly couldn’t be more thankful for that motivation. Not only did I focus on removing negativity, but I reversed it to something positive.

Fast forward, that person who is no longer in my life decided to resurface and reach out to me to say how good my blog was. At that moment, I felt validated but then I quickly thought “Loren, you already knew this and do NOT need validation about your art or purpose”. This is one of those “KNOW YOURSELF” and “LOVE YOURSELF” moments.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, if you have people in your life that are NOT genuinely wanting to see you win, REMOVE THEM and continue removing negativity if applicable.

Let’s be clear…

I’m not talking about friends that offer constructive criticism because some of y’all get that mixed up with “hating”. I’m talking about people who ALWAYS have something negative to say at every turn without offering a solution or advice.

A conversation with a “hater friend “ goes something like …

You: I’m thinking of starting a blog, but I’m not sure where to start or what I want to blog about.

Them: That’s dumb. How do you know you want to start a blog but have no idea what you want it to be out?

A conversation with a “friend “ goes something like …

You: I’m thinking of starting a blog, but I’m not sure where to start or what I want to blog about.

Them: That’s dope! You should check out different bloggers on IG to give you some ideas of where to start.

See the difference?

Even though the negativity motivated me to prove them wrong, it’s still negativity that I don’t need. I prefer to be motivated by love and support not by negativity. Being all the way real, I’ve spent the last few years slowly weeding out negativity. Negative influences, negative people, and negative mindsets. Some of it has been my own fault and some fault from others. However, that was then and now I’m on a journey to leveling up. I just simply can’t do that without quality people in my life. I’m thankful for all of the new and old people that are apart of my new journey.

How do you deal with negative people? Do you let negativity motivate you or deflate you? I’d love to hear from you, comment below or send me an email by clicking the “Chat With Me” tab under “About Me”. Until next time, I’m manifesting luv, enjoy.
